About The Store
So with the big changes happening to Midgley Studio, you may have noticed the store is currently missing. Don’t worry, it’s not gone for good. It’s coming back stronger, and with a much clearer purpose behind how it fits into the wider brand.
One of the biggest decisions I’ve made during this rebrand is to move the store away from the main website and rebuild it on Shopify rather than continuing to run it through Squarespace. On the surface, it might seem like a small technical change, but in reality it’s a shift that will have a huge impact on performance, flexibility, and the overall experience for anyone interacting with the store.
There’s also a strategic reason behind the decision. Moving to Shopify creates a clearer separation between the studio as a creative service and the store as a product offering. Instead of everything living in one place and competing for attention, each part of the business can now do its job properly. The main site becomes a strong, focused portfolio and client acquisition tool, while the store becomes a dedicated space for products, drops, and future expansion.
Looking ahead, this also gives me far more room to grow. Shopify makes it easier to scale, whether that means expanding product ranges, running promotions, integrating new tools, or even exploring things like international shipping and digital products. It’s a platform that’s designed to evolve, which aligns much better with where I want to take the store in the long term.
Ultimately, this isn’t just about moving platforms. It’s about building a stronger foundation. The goal is to create a cleaner, faster, and more intentional experience across everything Midgley Studio offers, and separating the store is a key step in making that happen.
The store will be back soon, and when it returns, it won’t just be a relaunch. It’ll be a significant upgrade.
